ASAE opening session: The Song!
Much as I liked Gary Hamel’s presentation, I think the best part of the opening general session was the song they opened with:
According to a story in the ASAE show daily, PCI Communications, producer of the opening sessions for the past several years, took last year’s great “Happy Dance” video and one-upped themselves by writing an original song that was both catchy and encapsulating of the meeting’s themes, then doing a talent search to find musically talented ASAE members to perform it. And wow, did they. It was amazing.
OK guys, how are you going to top that next year??

Blushing… thanks for the kind words, Sue. The association performers were great, and great to work with! ASAE & The Center deserve a lot of the credit for supporting great creative in their general sessions.
As for next year? We’ve got until at least next week to figure that out.

Outstanding! Not only does it convey the right message, but it acknowledges who association people might be in their “other lives,” showing an appropriate balance for work life/home life, and utilized the creative talents of so many.
