We want more bandwidth!
That appears to be the rallying cry for meeting planners these days. No big surprise there, with the rapid growth in both attendee and organizational downloads, uploads, and all-around Internet overloads. Here’s an interesting look from the New York Times at the state of the art in convention hotels and conference centers, and the challenges we continue to face as our e-appetite continues to grow.

I cant tell you the problems I have had in the past with internet usage for events. Besides the exorbitant prices for slow connectivity, I have a constant conversations with clients that i need a dedicated line back stage at events for unforseen codecs that may come with last minute presentations that appear with executive sticks (thumb drives) The one thing I dont understand is why our country in a whole does not have higher speeds? In japan a friend of mine was getting 100megs and thats a common occurrence.
Reminds me of Star Trek “Scotty I need more power” Scotty. “I am doing the best I can Captain”
(Is my nerdiness showing?)
Thanks for the post!
