Calling all association planners

Just in case you don’t have enough voting in your life today: Please take a couple of minutes to fill out our quick six-question survey“> on the economy and association meetings. It should be relatively painless, and I guarantee you won’t have to wait in line!

And for those of you who live here in the U.S.: Don’t forget to go vote for your favorite candidates and issues at the real polls. May the best candidate win.

P.S. If you are not sure where your polling site is, try this Google Maps mashup for 2008 voter information.

P.P.S. For feeds of the latest election news around the country, the best source I’ve found so far is Politics.Alltop.com.

Trade shows: growing in China, diminishing elsewhere?

Jim Turner has a couple of thought-provoking posts on his Convention Insider blog:
Trade shows in China more prominent than in U.S., in which he talks about the health of the trade show business in that part of the world; and
The death of the trade show, and how the rise of the Internet in general, and search engines in particular, are causing a decline in the exhibition industry. I’m not sure I buy the latter, but it is interesting, and check the links from his post for the full argument (note: the arguer has a vested interest in taking this position).
