ASAE: Nice touch
I forgot to mention one thing I really liked in the opening session on Sunday was a video montage they did. Looks like they visited a bunch of member associations and taped them doing a dance, a la “Where the H*** is Matt” (see below if you managed to miss Matt’s world dance-a-thon, which is guaranteed to make you smile). I have to say it worked for me; got me smiling and wanting to dance along with them. Which is no small feat early in the morning, let me tell you. Now if it had John Graham or others in ASAE leadership positions leading the madness, that would have really been wild…

Sue–If you are able to get your hands on that video, please share it! I am really enjoying your posts from San Diego. Looks like ASAE has really gone beyond having the requisite session on social media and has actually implemented it in some great ways. Very fun to see.

I’ll try to remember to check their Web site to see if they post it–I hope so! If they don’t plan to, I’ll suggest it.

Interesting that you liked this and one of the Acronym bloggers slammed it big-time. Just goes to show that we will rarely find something out of the ordinary that everyone will find appealing … and that’s OK.

Jeffrey, I have to add that they replayed it at the very end of the final general session as everyone was leaving. What was to me an amazing number of people stopped, turned around, and watched it again. This at a time when people usually are running for the door. Sure, it was a little hokey, but it worked for more than just me. (Then again, I liked the song-and-dance numbers last year too, for the most part.)
