The big freeze
Off topic, but very cool, is this video of a prank in Grand Central Station:
Or maybe it’s not totally off-topic. I can see this on an expo floor as being pretty wild. Better yet, is there something different but equally cool you could do at your conference? I can’t think of any examples, but brighter minds than mine I’m sure could come up with something spectacular.

btw, i can’t find a “contact me” button, which i would recommend in case enthusatic people such as myself decide they need to contact you, but i do have a tip for you.
there’s a new registration “software” available that i think is worth spreading the news about to others in the event planning industry:
www.eventbrite.com
seems to be way cheaper than every other provider and probably suitable for most association needs, considering how “basic” their events are.
(i’m not affiliated w/ them, don’t worry.)

I think the point was just to do it and see how people reacted. Or just for the heck of it? I don’t know, but I sure wish I’d been there, either just to experience it or, even better, to be part of the freeze (but I probably would have laughed or moved, so it’s good I wasn’t part of it).

This is the kind of act first covered by Howard Rheingold in his book Smart Mobs.

For the past 7 - 10 years people have been staging such actions around the word

ImprovEverywhere does a lot of these. If your meeting is in NY, why wouldn’t you talk to them to see what they can think up.
