Why you should care about Web 2.0
I know I tend to harp on how blogs, wikis, and other social networking technology can enhance meetings, but at least I have tech guru Corbin Ball on the same wavelength. Check out this article he wrote on what Web 2.0 (a.k.a., the participatory Web) means for meetings and events. I couldn’t have said it better myself!

Sue,
You’re truly generous with this post. If I were still doing this I think I’d be somewhat resentful.
But I guess now that Corbin has chimed in, social networking apps can now be taken seriously by the MICE industry. I imagine this will lead to Web 2.0 themed sessions at PCMA and MPI for five more years.
Yeah, I guess it’s sour grapes and bad form to bring it up. But you were there at the start and “got it” (along with Kevin, et. al.) - and CB and pals weren’t. Remember their “blog”? Cripes. Nothing against Corbin, I like the guy. But c’mon - it should be you.
So why aren’t you out there making six figs talking on every continent? You should give it a try. You can communicate this stuff - and better yet, when someone asks questions about it, you can actually answer them citing correct examples and in layman’s terms.
Just a thought.
Btw, I find it amusing that the codeword for entering this comment is “blow”. Sort of sums up how I feel about this at the moment.
