Baarmy sheep promote Cumbria in weird video

When I saw a snippet of the sheep “singing” Jingle Bells last night, well, I just had to hear more (listen to the file here). But will it be enough to beat out the Crazy Frog version? The Lake District folks (that’s in England—I spent some time up there a while ago and it was drop-dead gorgeous) think it will:

Eric Robson, chairman of Cumbria Tourist Board, said: “Christmas may be the season of goodwill to all men – but not Crazy Frog’s!

“Visitors from all over the world love the Lake District and our sheep on the snow-covered mountains at this time of year, so we’re confident people will prefer our version.”

“Who knows, a winter break in the Lake District might be the only place to escape the Crazy Frog and the general stress of Christmas this year.”

The sheep also take on Good King Wencelas, Hark The Herald Angels Sing and While Shepherds Watch Their Flocks By Night (go to http://www.golakes.co.uk/xmasbaarmysheep for the full mashup.)

Fun with fonts

Next time you’re designing an event brochure, or working on a new logo, or just want to play with type, check out this site, where you can type in anything you want and see how it looks in all kinds of different fonts. If you find one you like, you can download it right from the site (some are free for all uses, some just for personal use. Most are pretty interesting.)

Meetings tag clouds

I wanted to give this a test run to see if it’d be something useful for people: A tag cloud for meetings. Basically, you just click on the word/phrase you’re interested in, and it accesses a special search engine that’ll look for more on what you’re looking for.

I’m not totally sold on this concept, but thought if anyone thought it was useful, I’d incorporate it into this site in a more permanent way. So, let me know what you think.
