Are terrorists “casing” planes?

If that headline isn’t enough to scare you off, go ahead and read this story from e-Turbo News. One quick snippet:

Security experts continue to be concerned that terrorists are monitoring and probing the nation’s aviation system in order to uncover vulnerabilities and prepare for another attack.

As often as twice a week, major airlines receive reports of suspicious behavior, according to industry sources - things like passengers videotaping the cockpit area, spending excessive amounts of time in the lavatory, or suddenly rushing to the front of the plane and then backing off.

Despite rising concern about security, however, pilots and other industry sources say there is still is no single and standardized system for airline employees to report such suspicious behavior directly to government investigators.

Mindball, anyone?

Brun1stor

I’m trying to keep my mind off of baseball, which is a big laugh to anyone who knows me–not a big sports fan, generally speaking. But this is the Red Sox. I live in Massachusetts. We’re all insane this week, just waiting for a) vindication or b) well, I’m not going to say it in case I jinx it.

Anyway, I came across Mindball, which is designed to create the exact opposite of the angst Sox fans are feeling tonight. Basically, you put on a headband with sensors on it, which send signals to a biosensor that moves the ball from one side of the table to the other. The most relaxed brain wins.

It ain’t cheap, but wouldn’t this make a great break for an executive retreat, or even an incentive? If you do it, invite me along–I’m dying to try this one.
